Everness Festival: Complex Digital Infrastructure and Scalable Operations for One of Europe's Largest Spiritual Festivals
Everness is currently Europe's largest spiritual and self-awareness festival, attracting around 20,000 visitors annually. As their technology partner, we are proud to have been managing the festival's web presence and backend systems since its inception.
The Challenge: Massive Traffic Spikes and Complex Data
For an event of this magnitude, the website is not just an informational surface but the digital beating heart of the festival. We had to solve two critical challenges: flawlessly managing massive traffic spikes during ticket sales campaigns and ensuring stability during the week of the festival itself.
Since festival-goers browse the daily schedule almost entirely on mobile devices on-site, a "mobile-first" design and instant server-side response times were not optional, but fundamental requirements.
During the festival week, the system must:
- Handle concurrent events across more than 50 locations.
- Display 300-400 different programs in a clear, thematically filterable view.
- Serve up to 20,000 concurrent visitors lightning-fast and without interruptions.
The Solution: A Custom-Built, Robust Ecosystem
Moving beyond the limitations of "out-of-the-box" software, and based on the experience of our long-term partnership, we built an infrastructure and a custom backend tailored specifically to the festival organizers' workflows:
High-Load Hosting
We designed a high-capacity web infrastructure with a dedicated server backbone that seamlessly handles extreme loads during peak periods without any slowdowns.
Website Optimization
We optimized the display of the program schedulefeaturing up to 400 events and 50 locationsso that thousands of visitors can browse simultaneously without noticeable lag.
Custom E-Commerce & ERP
We created a custom-developed webshop for online ticket and accommodation sales, deeply integrated with a bespoke financial and administrative (ERP) system.
Access Control System
We didn't just develop the complex access control software; over the years, we have frequently provided on-site hardware and software support to ensure smooth entry processes.
Newsletter System
We enhanced and tailored our proprietary marketing automation and newsletter delivery system to perfectly meet the festival's specific communication needs.
Affiliate System
We developed an affiliate-based sales system to support and track ticket sales generated through external partners.
